How to Renew the ‘MIND’

 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8

The power of the mind is a well-known concept to pastors, athletes, motivational speakers, politicians, etc,. Having a healthy mind will improve and benefit our lives in all aspects because our thoughts determine our actions and our actions determine our destination to a greater extent than we realize.

According to the verse above, we can choose what to dwell on even though we may not control what thoughts come into our minds.  It all starts with your thinking.


Feeding Your Mind

What your feed your mind is what you’ll become. You can’t sow an apple seed and expect a pineapple tree. The same is true for information you feed your mind. Healthy information equals a healthy mind, but if feed your mind bitterness and resentment, then you’re poisoning your mind. Your mind responds to what you feed it, and a poisonous mind will destroy the body


Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Having an optimistic mindset can help weather the storms of life. In most cases your circumstances chose you, but you get to choose your response. It’s not about what you’re going through, but how you are going through it.

Consider These & Hold Fast


– If you’re in a storm, keep going
– If you’re in a fight, fight to win
Because the righteous man falls and rises again


– What you permit, you to promote
– Anything you allow, you encourage
– What you tolerate, you deserve

Your thought life has the power to destroy

– You change your thoughts you change your life
– Action is the foundation of success
– The church was established by action


How to Renew Your Mind


First, we must emulate Christ’s mindset to the fullest. Renewing your mind is a daily process that helps you understand that “Failure is not a person but an event”.

Second, optimism is the foundation of success in all capacities.  This change in thinking gives new perspectives and clarity in most life circumstances.

Third, changing your “ACTIONS” can change how your brain is wired.  Decisions reinforce certain neural pathways. When you change your actions you change your future.

Most importantly, feed your mind with the Word daily to help control what you dwell on.

Prayer: Thank you for the victory that you have already given us through Christ Jesus. We pray that our thoughts be His thoughts; our actions be His actions; our faith be His faith; and our love be His love.

Life is like a wheelbarrow. You get nowhere until you start pushing forward for what you want.


Keep pushing to flush negative and unhealthy thinking from your life and embrace a ‘Christ-Like Mindset’ for the manifestation of God’s glorious work in your life. Think about things that bring joy, elevation, motivation, admiration, praise etc, to the glory of God. Your mind is powerful, and so are ‘you’ through Christ.
